WOLF CREEK HERITAGE MUSEUM NOTES
by Virginia Scott

MUSEUM HAPPENINGS

There were two very serious judges touring the student art exhibit last week. They were judging the students entries for the prizes that will be awarded this year at the reception on February 24, at 2 pm. Along with the ribbons there will also be awards given to the winners. This is a new event this year and should be fun for everyone so be sure to attend.

Georgia is also preparing another sports exhibit for march/april. This time she is featuring all schools teams past and present. If you have some thing you want to contribute bring it in.

We hear Fern is home and improving daily. We are glad but miss her . The museum is quiet when the whole crew is not around. Get Well , soon Fern and return to us.

The Courthouse said goodbye to Karen Goodman last week. Karen was a great friend and supporter to the museum and we will miss her. We wish her well in her new job in Pampa.

HISTORICAL MUSINGS

THURSDAY IS VALENTINE'S DAY. As you read this column, I hope you have give a valentine to someone and that you received a valentine. Valentine's Day is now a day to show your friend or loved one that you care. People of all ages love to send and receive valentines. Sweet Heart banquets were annual affairs with a prince and princess crowned . These represented St. Valentine and his sweetheart who sent his cards when he was in prison. Our Valentine celebrations have become one of purchased cards and less of parties . I hope each of you received a card or a candy kiss from a friend and loved one.
