Lots of activity this week with county celebrations especially in Darrouzett celebrating their 100th birthday. Several families had reunions utilizing the Lipscomb School House for visiting and eating. We appreciate the county maintaining the school for reunions, fundraisers, and programs.

The new entrance to the museum is complete and gives us a new bright and open feeling when you enter the front doors. The new flooring will also fair the foot traffic better and easier to keep clean. Come see us and our new look.

Dorothy was our representative at the Fest with a booth selling our publications and visiting with the all the visitors to Darrouzett. Thanks Dorothy for volunteering to doing this project.

Pam Haines is in the process of setting up her collection of Barbie adventures. If you have little girls you must bring them down to see this exhibit. Even the adults that have seen it while she is setting up are in awe. It will be a fun summer exhibit, bring the kids.

A hundred years ago, the citizens of Lipscomb enjoyed a picnic at Baldwins Grove. The Limelight reported that "The day was ideal one for an outdoor entertainment with the weather just cool enough to be comfortable and at the same time warm enough to make ice cream a pleasant refreshment to indulge in.... A fine time was reported by all grasping the opportunity to take a course of Sand Creek hospitality and good cheer."

Where was Baldwins Grove, our guess is Northwest of Darrouzett.

The Limelight also reported that "another remarkable record auto trip: Oklahoma City to Amarillo was completed by an Overland car in nine hours and twenty-five minutes."
