WOLF CREEK HERITAGE MUSEUM NOTES
by Virginia Scott

MUSEUM HAPPENINGS

We had a full house on Saturday for our annual fundraiser and with a generous auction we made a nice profit. The details of the fundraiser will be reported at our board meeting this week. We thank everyone for attending and participating in the evening. Our entertainment was Pastor Bob Bynum and his wife Betty. They serve the Locust Grove Church in our county. Coleen Bradley catered a wonderful meal which served as a sit down affair with the servers from the "Filling Station."

Our board met on Wednesday ( remember I write on Monday, you read on Thursday or Friday) A report will be given next week.

I will venture to Graham, Texas on Thursday for the annual meeting of the West Texas Trails Association. This is one of two historical meeting we attend.

HISTORICAL MUSINGS

A community dinner like the one the museum hosted Saturday is a tradition in this county. In 1919, a pie supper was held on October 9,1919 with
"several selections of music by the school. Ex-County Judge Sewell acted in the capacity of auctioneer and the pies went soaring at good bids. The total proceeds amounted to $92.10 which will go to pay the athletic debt left over from last year. Affair ended at around 12 o'clock."
We again thank everyone who donated items to our auctions and we had pies donated by Kellie Kjos and they went for a good amount and beat the 1919 record. Thanks, Kellie.

Til next week, have a good one.
