WOLF CREEK HERITAGE MUSEUM NOTES by Virginia Scott MUSEUM HAPPENINGS I hope I am able to email this column to the newspapers on time. We are having computer connection problems and I am at present unable to obtain internet connection. The joys of living in the country but this too will pass and our connection to the outside world will be restored. Sunday was a great day. The weather was nice for our two out door events. There was a nice crowd that attended both dedications for our new markers in town. Anna Lee Barton with Floyd Theissen and others dedicated the new monument on the courthouse lawn followed by the unveiling of the new Texas Historical Commission marker for the Lipscomb School. Ronnie Schneider led the school unveiling introducing Dorothy Schoenhals to give the history of the school. Bessie Gerkin unveiled the marker as one of the students who attended the school. Refreshments and conversation followed in the school. Memorial weekend is always a busy weekend with families reuniting to visit and to remember those who served our country and loved ones we have lost. The museum is always available on these occasions and many came to the museum after the school event to see our new area and to revisit the exhibits. Remember we add to and change all our exhibits as we obtain new artifacts or display some from our archives. As one visitor stated "You are women and you have to rearrange things every once in awhile". HISTORICAL MUSINGS World War I
